The second picture is of another hermit crab I have which seems more like a blue leg hermit crab to me just for reference of the color under the light.

I believe so. I've seen them for sale.

I wouldn't say so, if it's a thin stripe.

I have heard many stories about thinstripe hermits eating a bunch of inverts. Snails, and shrimp specifically.

They also can become a threat to loose rock work, having the power to push over rocks.

I think you might be right. I’ve been slowly losing snails and it’s not parameters because some remain. I also spontaneously lost a shrimp recently too. Just to be careful I’m tossing it.

Lol didn’t mean it like that. Keeping it in an acclimation box and bring it with me to my next trip to the LFS.
