I bought this over 6 months ago. I paid more for it than any other coral in my tank. It was sold as a "Shades of Fall Bounce". They said the vesticals would grow as it got bigger. It is now almost 3 inches across and not a single one. Did I get taken?

Sometimes the bounce doesn’t happen. I have Godspawns witha nd without bubbles. The most impressive bounce I have would have to be my WWC OG and uranium bounce. Frag it a couple of times and see if one of the frags bounce.

If im not mistaken, bounce mushroom should always bounce. Rhodactis mushroom have the possibility of bouncing, so yea your shroom could bounce. Never heard of a 'Shades of Fall Bounce', do you have a pick of what one would look like bounced?

I don't have a picture of it as a bounce. I bought it on eBay. It was from a local shop so I picked it up. I asked before I got it if it was a bounce just to make sure. They insured me it was. Now I am thinking it is not.

I just plunked down the cash today on an OG WWC bounce and it has the vesicles but it's still very small (like dime sized). I would say OP's mushroom if anything is more likely a jawbreaker still on it's way to coloring up. nice looking coral none the less!

I have always liked mushrooms. I had some really nice ones before my other tank crashed last year. I have a few in my new tank. It is a nice mushroom I am just thinking I over paid. I got poor service from the shop three time in a row so I have stopped going to that shop. Since it is local I would want to warn my friends not to go there if they are misrepresenting what they sell. I would not want to tell someone something that is not true because I was mistaken. They said it would grow to bubbles but has not. I am just trying to find out if it was because of my bad luck or if I was sold a dud.

Creativemarine, the pictures are fuzzy but to me they look like Ricordea yuma. And rcpalmer1, while pretty much anything can "bounce" under intense lighting, I saw a jawbreaker that was starting to bubble up, I don't think that the rhodactis that you have is a bounce. That's not to say that it won't eventually bubble up like mad and be the most amazing mushroom to ever grace an aquarium, it just sounds like the shop stuck the bounce tag to it and up-charged. Did they have a mother shroom to show you what it would eventually look like? At any rate it's a beautiful mushroom

pretty much my feelings on it as well. the wwc bounce that everyone is hoping their corals evolve into has vesicles that are enormous, multicolored, and is very different from any other mushroom I have seen.

Thanks for information . They didn’t show me mother shroom but charged me £450 for the rock it has about 6 mushrooms on

^^Yep, Ricordea yuma for sure. Holy cats!!! That's a mighty big price tag, for my wallet anyway. I know you folks have different pricing over there for some groups of coral than we do here. But, if those particular yumas stay healthy and are nicely colored, as they appear to be, then you'll have a lovely show piece for years to come.

are all the mushrooms he sold you the same as the ones you have pictured? I just burned the math and that's almost $650 usd for 6 yumas which is insane. for example: I have a regular frag plug with 3 baby yumas on it that I'm going to sell for $30.
the photo I posted of the bounce is a modest one by "bounce" standards too as some that I've seen have vesicles the size of grapes.
I would be contacting the seller 0n this one.

Technically, a "Bounce" is just a shallow water Rhodactis with highly inflated pseudo tentacles, so yes yours could develop them over time as others have said. Most Rhodactis tend to be able to

I agree that the price is high, for here. But, I have no idea what different types of corals sell for in other parts of the world. Assuming that the person posting is from somewhere in Europe, this may be the average price for the coral. Here in the states, like you said, the yumas would be much cheaper, a lot closer to what you're asking which is a very reasonable/awesome price. And if the place/person that creativemarine got those from sold them as bounces then yes, I would contact them as well and be made whole because bounces they are not.
