Is this a Crown of Thorns Starfish

I had a few responses elsewhere thinking it was a crown of thorns so I binned it.

How many arms did it have? Also, how big was it?
It could be a crown of thorns but my first thought on seeing it was it's an eleven armed seacushion.

It had eight arms and was about 1 inch across.
