Is this a female black leopard wrasse or ???

Got this wrasse a few weeks ago as a female black leopard wrasse, looking at pics I'm not sure. Seen sites saying it's a divided wrasse, ornate wrasse or a black leopard wrasse ? I'm confused which is it ?

I think it’s a female, I have two and one is totally black, but the other looks almost exactly like yours..

That looks like Macropharyngodon meleagris not Macropharyngodon negrosensis.

Edit: Macropharyngodon bipartitus (from below is right)

Your is certainly not a negrosensis, which is all black with white spots

It was sold to me as a black leopard wrasse, really glad it turned out to be a female blue star, thank everyone for thier input !

One of the issues, particularly with Wrasses is that the use of common names can make things super confusing and you can find Wrasses commonly mislabeled. As seen this Blue Star Leopard Wrasse aka Divided Leopard Wrasse aka M.Bipartitus Wrasse has several names, so the confusion doesn't really surprise me. Oh and the other thing is that people often confuse Juvies with Females when it comes to Wrasses. Unless that Blue Star is 4-5 inches long it's definitely a juvie and not necessarily a female. Keep in mind that in captivity that most Wrasses revert to male as they mature/reach adult size.
