What is this little guy?...
I never had any luck with galaxeas, ever. Then there's this little guy growing kind of fast out of nowhere, I thought it could be just a pavona bit that somehow could be part of my pavona colony when I moved it that was stuck to the rock, but it is much more "hairy" than the pavona, has these long feeders but doesn't have that rounded shape I've seen in galaxea colonies, it's spreading more like a chalice and its colour is less darker than the pavona. I'm suspecting it can be a metallic galaxea. Is it?

Hi,can you close it up ,or wait until closed to show skeletal base ?

Pavona, and yes they shoot out sweeper tentacles. Galaxea have sweepers that are super long compared to the pavona and they also have fluorescent tips on the sweepers.

This is the galaxea in my tank. Those sweepers you see actually stretch out to the zoas on the left.

My bosses tank has 2 Galaxea's. One "Toothy" and One "Goblin." They reside on their own mountain. I bought him the Goblin at a local fish store for $25 bucks. It was the size of a marble. 8 - 10 months later is the size of a baseball. I like these mean little corals.

Sorry for the fuzzy picture. He has a tank with curved glass so it is hard to focus on.

I poked it a bit and it seems to have tiny (still, it's small) little round edges like a pavona. My pavona had occasionally some longer feeders than it has today but not as this little guy, maybe it's due to its current position.
A zoom in doesn't come up very good, tried it before but it gets too blurred due to its movement and size.
I'd say it's a pavona too, but it's very different (again, still, it has probably 3cm) from it's "mother" if it really came out from that one. As I've said, I never saw a galaxea that didn't have this rounded shape.

Looks like GSP but hard to confirm on a phone screen

Mean is an understatement these guys won't loose a fight and sweepers over a ft long. I still want some just no room
