Is this a good deal / can I even?

A friend of a friend is selling a pair of mocha clownfish for $60. I don't know a whole lot about clownfish, so I was wondering if this was a decent deal or not.

My second question is: can I keep them in my tank? My tank is a 10g tank that has an 8 inch black brittle star, a couple of hermit crabs, a couple mushrooms, a ton of pods, and a ton of macro algae of different types. That tank was intended to be a sump/refugium for a larger 40g tank, but the larger tank developed a crack. Anyhow, the 10g has been running for 7 months now.

how big are the fish? and are they healthy from a healthy system.
I think those are more important than $.

They will do fine in a 10g tank however keep in mind that you might have to increase your maintainence schedule to keep up with 2 fish in a small tank. As for the price, well that depends on a few things. How much you want them, how much they sell for in your area, their health. Whether they are a mated pair or not.

Well I live in Missouri (and not in either of the major cities), so salt water livestock is pretty rare due to distance.

I think that they're pretty cool fish and I've been meaning to get some fish for a while now. The thing is, the guy who's selling them is moving and trying to sell basically everything. They are a mated pair I believe.

With two fish in a 10g, how much maintenance would you say that would be? Like do you just mean more frequent water changes or do you mean something more than that?

Your biggest issue will be keeping things stable. With the additions you will need to do more frequent water changes to keep up with nutrients created by the fish, Poop

Make sure your filtering your tank well and water changes should enable you to keep them. How big are they? JMO
