I have a decent amount of tanks but I’ve never had the fancy rimless low iron ones. One of my coworkers let me know that a customer was selling a Red Sea Reefer 350 for $450 (he said the price was like this because he needs it out by the weekend), I talked with him and he said the tank has basically no defects but after reviewing the photos my coworkers pointed out a few things.
1. The tank is resting on its back, meaning the overflow is on the bottom. I haven’t heard that this is a bad thing but both my coworker and our store’s service guy who has probably done about a thousand tanks by now said it’s an issue. I don’t know bad that is or if that’s workable
2. The plumbing definitely needs replacement, but I can work with that
3. One door is not attached to the stand (minor issue)
The main concern here is that if we saw those many issues in just one photo then we will find many more when we go pick it up. Would it be a good idea to ask the guy to fill the tank up and leave it filled until we are there? I don’t know if that would come off as rude. We see him in about 3 hours so I really need feedback ASAP. Here is a link to the photo:
Edit: Also he is selling the tank because when he moved to my city he upgraded and gave this tank to his friend who never ended up using it. It’s been in storage for about 8 months
