So I am getting a new wave maker because mine is suction one and keeps falling and making me mad lol. I have a Biocube 29 and was wondering if this wave maker would be ok for it. Should I get the 5 or do you think the 10 would be better? I’m trying to get a good flow pattern for the anemone I’m buying soon and for torches down the line.

That pump should be fine for your biocube. I would recommend the bigger one since you can lower the flow (putting less stress on the pump) but it might look awkwardly large and that smaller size is totally fine. I use the Jebao sow pumps on my reef and really like them.

That’s should work fine. But I agree on getting the larger one and just turning down the intensity.

Depending on the amount of rock in your tank, the smaller will be adding @22x turnover and the larger @27x. Not a big difference, so the size of the pump might be your determining factor. If they are of similar dimensions, then more flow is usually better than less. What is your current turnover rate?

jebao is JUNK. too much money. Mine you can hear it whirring from the other room. also, it's lost it's zip for flow. Even being cleaned. Never again. Not too sure this is a good replacement though either.

I’m not sure what my turnover rate is right now as I am a little new to reef tanks. I am doing a complete rescape of my tank pretty soon though and I plan to start a build thread once I do that for more help and such.

Divide the total gallons per hour (gph) of your current pumps (return pump and powerhead) and divide by 29 (the number of gallons in your Display Tank (DT) to get your turnover rate. This is a ballpark figure as your sand and rock displace an unknown amount of water.

I must be lucky.

I have 8 Jebao wavemakers, 2 Jebao returns, 2 Jebao Gyres, and a UV running 4 years now.

Showing one persons bad experience is hardly real proof.

It’s just like the 5 Blackboxes that have also run for 4 years now.

Whenever you sell a ton of volume, your going to have some which are not happy.....

This DT is completely Jebao and Blackbox.

Ok. Thank you for the advice!
