Is this a little sponge starting to grow?

Hey guys. I have been searching for pictures of little white sponges thinking that is what I have growing in a few spots. Could somebody help me out and take a look? Also, its growing on the side of a acan lord. Should I let it be?

Yep, looks like a sponge to me.

Sponge..you can scrub it off if it bothers you...but theyre fine.

Cool, thank you for the quick reply. Now that I have an ID, I can stew over what to do about it. Lol. If it wasnt right on my acan I wouldn't worry about it.
