ok i got these from a buddy who was tearing down his tank. he coudlnt remmeber what they are. from what i have read around on what i THINK they are they dont know if its LPS or sps.. it has been doing great in our tank and has grown considerably since being put in... also the polyps will eat NLS pellets if they fall onto them! that makes me think its LPS but then again the polp extension looks kinda like sps.... any help on the true name or if the name i have is right would be great!! was told and thinking they are a Turbinaria also what do frags of this go for? evreyone in my local club is wanting peices of it and i have no idea what to sell for and be fair.. i seen a peice of the teal/red one at a LFS on a frag plug and they had it for like $50

thanks they are doing great for us!! i ahve a few peices that broke off im trying to get to grow onto a frag plug or peice or rock but going a little slow...

I would agree with Cyphastrea and Turbinaria. Depending on what you read, some will call a Turbinaria a SPS, others a LPS.

yea that is what im finding that it is highly debated on what it actually is.... but either way! its diong good and growing for us so im not to worried just wanted a answer for when people ask ;)

The terms "LPS" and "SPS" are hobby terms anyway, not at all scientific. IMO, Turbinaria has larger polyps that what I'd consider an SPS AND for me anyway, it grows better in lower light (though SPS/LPS also doesn't scientifically mean anything, when it comes to light needs) so I've always considered in an LPS, but that's just my opinion, for what it's worth...lol

hey i posted this for opinions so thank you!! lol the turbinaria is the red one right? so you think wil ldo beter in lower light?? its about midway up the tnak in full light and has gotten an AMAZING teal blue color to its base and bright red polps it seems to be very happy and growing well

wish i had a better camera to show the colors better!
