Okay, so long story short I had 3 lyretail anthias and 2 didn't make it. One is remaining and I then added 2 other females so I would have a trio in my QT. As time has gone on I look at them and notice the 1 that I had since the start doesn't look like the other 2 really regarding colors at all. I tried to get a photo of the fish, but as you can see it was not easy. Is this a Lyretail Anthia?

I assumed the one coming out of pvc in 2nd and 3rd pic since it was centered in pic.

If your talking about that paler one in the back maybe not. It looks a lot like my female red bar anthias. If there is that faint hint of the pink bar and lyretail red tips in the image below then that's it.

I think this is it! Is this okay to have with the 2 lyretails then? Do I need more of this or another Lyretail? I do plan on a few Bartletts and 1 sunburst in the future. Love Anthias

It should be fine. I have 3 of them (2 turned male) and the female is fine but the males are aggressive and they get big for anthias. I also have 3 lyre tails, 4 Tierra, 2 Bimaculatus (male also large and aggressive). I would also get a male lyretail for those. I have at least one male for each species. Sunburst is the one I have not had luck with. They are just too docile and will get beat up, hide all the time, not eat and die.

If you can get a better pic of the paler one? I'm not entirely convinced of the id yet.

The one you have in your tank may be changing over to male.

Coloring is much different then other 2 lyretails, lighter and smaller in size as well. Was going to add a male soon. Good idea or no?

You should be able to add a male, but I would do it soon so that one of your current females doesn't begin to transition into a male.

When mine started to convert, it didn't look like that. Not to say it can't, just mine didn't . I'll admit mine was a little weird though.

I don't know if I would add a male with that one in there. I think I would wait and see what it's up to first.

To me it doesn't look like it's transitioning yet. The dorsal pennant usually appears before the color changes. I think it's just a poorly colored female.
