I just got my shipment in from a vendor, and they said that the extra coral was a Rainbow Echinata, but I'm pretty sure it's a montipora of some kind.

Can someone help identify it? It has yellow polyps. I'm just wondering if it's a shelfing, encrusting, or finger coral.

Also..you may want to run carbon. Your water is looking very yellow and you're probably losing PAR because of it. Just my observation.

I do run carbon, it's just a pic I took through yellow tinted glasses, the water is currently crystal clear :)

I bought a incrusting montipora with green polyps. The velvet on it was green when I bought it but now it's showing signs of a beautiful red/rainbow color. But the polyps are still green. Is it a variation of a rainbow encrusting montipora?
The velvet was damaged and went away for some time but now is coming Back. Sorry for the bad pictures. I need to get a filter for my good camera.
