Is this a naughty type of starfish?

So I just caught this in my tank. And think it could be a Asterina starfish. So if anyone could confirm and idk make sure it’s not a baby chocolate chip starfish or something not harmful to my mixed reef tank. Any/all help is greatly appreciated. Sorry about the pics being mediocre lol

My cousin always says take them out cause they overpopulate the tank. Some people keep them and get a harlequinn shrimp to eat them as they only eat starfish. Ive never had them myself but I do think they are cute! Never heard of them messing with corals, just that they reproduce like crazy

Mixed Reviews? From who? the same folks that swear their tank was wiped out by vermatids?

They are safe and welcome diversity that will come and go over time.

Sorry for the delayed reply. Here is my ‘mixed’ review. I noticed patches on my porites (with Xmas worms) over the weekend. Before the lights came in, found this guy. Two pictures, one with him on the porites, and one with him removed. I find it hard to believe he just happened to be wandering over fresh patches of dead tissue.

Did I hear him munching? No. Did I dissect him and look for coral tissue? No. Do I have enough circumstantial evidence to form my opinion? Yep.
