Is this a new lobo head forming?

I always kind of expected it to either split down the middle or start a new head from the base. I don't know if this is a new head forming or reaction to some sort of damage.

Could be either? That looks more like an acan or blastomussa than a lobo? (I don't pretend to be an expert at identification of these lps. )
