never been to one, but i hope not.... if all your coral is green than it would cool but reds, purple and blues wash out and look *****.....:cry:

Not only swaps, alot of the MACNA frag tanks seemed like they were blue 20k leds.

Most of the lighted tanks at swaps that I've been too seem to focus more on the actinic lighting rather than a mixed spectrum.

At MACNA, everyone I bought from would kill the blue no problem, if you asked.

I noticed that at the Seamax show that almost every vendor had blue LEDs on. I really didn't like it because it was difficult sometimes to get a fair representation of the coral. With all of the pictures I have seen online of corals , I've gotten pretty good of subtracting the blues in my mind to get an idea of what the coral will really look like in my tank.

well Blue is definetly becomin more popular amongst the reefing community ImO just look at the led fixtures almost all are leaning towrds the AI sol blue version's and I myself run more blue on my tank with my t5 fixture I personally like the pop it gives a tank versus a dull white look

Don't get me wrong. I like a lot of blue coloration but with the LEDs including the one I have it's just a little too much when only the blue spectrum is on. It makes the colors really pop but just doesn't look natural at all.

Yeah. Turn just the blues on for awhile and then the whites and it looks funny. If you had the blues and whites on and came into the room it would look normal.

i dont have any white at all , mixed the rb and cool blue together and i love it

well I was at Macna and was a little disappointed and was watching one of the vendors getting yelled at because the coral was a different color in the buyers tank-- a newbie might not under stand

any swap you go to your gonna find a lot of blue lighting for the simple reason it helps sell coral

On my tank i run a 12k-14k look for my daylights but i do have a Reefbrite LED thrown in the mix to give the LPS and extra Punch without really changing the color of the tank. Blue LEDs really make corals awesome, I dont blame the venders for relying on Actincs to sell corals.
