I am looking for a booster pump for my Aquaticlife 100GPD rodi unit.

is the first picture the new version?

the second picture is the one I have been seeing but didn’t pull the trigger to get it but this cold weather here takes almost 2 hours to make a bucket drive me nuts!

tested my psi is at around 75

Not familiar with either but if you can heat the incoming water your production will increase.
There is nothing wrong with 75 PSI, you don't need more pressure.
Cold water is a horror on a RO unit.

I thought was just the opposite...? That hot water wrecks the membranes?

Regardless, does it have to be ‘that’ brand of booster? Have you checked out the other type on BRS? Best wishes whichever way you go.

The fish room should be at around 65. If I am going out of my way to heat the water coming in, I might as well get the booster pump.

I don’t think the previous member meant hot but room temperature water. I am not sure which brand but want to play safe because I know it’s the same company that makes both booster and my rodi.

I wouldn’t say it’s horror. It’s just slow. The real horror for an RODI is hot water wrecking the membrane. Cold water is just glacial. Pun intended :P

I use an Aquatec 8800 Booster Pump. And no, you do not need to use the same brand as your RO unit. I bought my Aquatec on Amazon and its worked well. That said, at 75 PSI the problem you are having is not pressure related but water temp i.e. colder water less production. Below is a calculator that shows the loss due to water temp. Water that is too hot will destroy your membrane.

I use the aquaticlife unit and love it. It is the easiest booster pump to install that I have ever found. It works great and boosts the pressure to about 115 for me.

I have spoken to aquaticlife directly and they have told me that the only change with the new version is that the new version includes elbow fittings to make it easier to install with their twisting RO. Everything inside the pump is the same.

So is the first picture the new model?

The first picture is the new model. If you don't have a twist in system it won't matter what version you get.

Yes they have a twistin and a classic. If you have the twistin then I would get the new version. The best way to make sure you are getting the new version is to purchase through aquaticlife's website since they have the newest stock.
