Is this a nuisance algae or a macro?

Anyone have any idea what algae this is? Its growing mainly attached to my sand. My kole tang likes to pick up the sand and spit it out so I imagine it may be eating it as it grows. It stays really small it seems. Its been around for a couple months now, doesn't seem to be the end of the world at the moment but just don't know what it is. Here is the best pic I can get from an area with a decent bit. I searched all around at algae pictures but can seem to match it to something.

I've never had bryopsis but looking online, it seems bryopsis is more feathery looking. This seems to be invidual stalks kinda, almost like mini blades of grass.

Looks like a macro algae. Remove it now if it’s the sort of thing you don’t want in the aquarium.

Any idea on what species? I'm so curious to know. I love trying to learn about something new

Anyone have a species ID on this or a picture of something that looks close?

I pulled some out on a paper towel to show it better. Here you can see a few stands rooted to a larger sand piece. Its just thick blade like structure. Not fuzzy or slimy. You can see it is smaller compared to the sand piece and paper towel texture.

Macro for sure. No idea what kind. I know it’s hardy. I have some on live rock in my tank. It survived being dry in my friend’s basement for months then in my 90 degree garage while I cycled all the rock. I would do a thorough elimination. I just let my tank pick at it.
