Nerites lay copious eggs in tanks, but don't really breed in home systems.

Trochus and cerith can and do breed in home systems however. You won't really know about this until you see the miniature versions of them running about.

Nothing. They just kinda stay there forever. Eventually the alkalinity drops enough they dissolve a bit. Scrape them off your glass, and on the rock coraline will eventually cover them up.

Geeez its a lot to scrap off... well I hope it will dissolve.
 
I don't like to scrub sponges as many species make potent toxins!

Just read the side effects of Halaven for example! (A powerful cancer drug made from sea sponges)
