I was taking a picture to show my buddy my new addition to my tank and i am finally gonna ask the question. Is this a sponge? If so i thought they do not like light and disappear? thanks for the help!

It looks like a blue arrow. Sorry Couldn't resist. It does look like a sponge, but I've never seen one quite that color.
