Looks like perhaps a sponge and some GHA. Not sure on removal, that’s not my expertise.

Yes, the algae is likely bryopsis. One of several strains in my reef...

So the sponge is not a big deal?

The yellow is a sponge. You can scrape it off with a toothbrush or finger.

I think(fuzzy pic) it’s just a gha.
Toothbrush that to. Gsp is pretty resilient.

hard to tell from the pick, but it looks like a sponge that grows in my sump area. Tweezers should be able to pluck it out

LOL, the GSP is on a rock island isolated in the sand bed. Growing like a weed, but has a finite domain. I think i will leave the sponge. You can;t even see it when the GSP is extended.
