I have read good and bad about sponges but am too new at this to have any personal experience or knowledge. I have a larger white sponge on the back side of a rock where I can’t photograph it.

I have a bunch of those yellow sponges under my rocks and in other dark places, some spanning 3-4 inches.

That sponge is not a bad sponge, to my knowledge. I have had them. Just as easily as they appear, they tend to fade away.
