I hear tell it is a type of jellyfish. What say you?

hydroid, could irritate corals. usually go away on its own.

Seems to be a medusozoan (jellyfish, hydroids, and relatives) of some kind - I'd guess a hydroid of some kind, but I'm not sure on the species.

Hydroids very common in new tanks. I had these exact same ones when my tank was new and found them to be harmless and die off.
