It doesn’t have to be an actual anemone for it to host a clown. My clowns stay in my green star polyps most of the time.I heard anemone and thought ohhh... maybe if I get a clown he would like them! Lol they look cool! Some are nestled amongst another coral (clove coral I think), they can stay for now.
Thanks![]()
(once I catch this chromis!), 2 clowns will be my first fish purchase! Considering an anemone so they leave my frogspawn alone... heard they can torture them lolI don’t believe so. There is also a brown star polyp that it may be, but I’ve never had any of them.
Not a zoa for sure, but cant really ID it at that size. It is a nem of some sort and when it come to anemone it will be a toss up whether is it a friend or foe, even the ones commonly available in trade have quite polarized opinions
To be fair, they were more green, gone brown since I bought the tank and moved it to my house... under blue light they look a bit greener...I don’t believe so. There is also a brown star polyp that it may be, but I’ve never had any of them.
Even still, cool for now! Seeing as I can't have any fish, I'll take what I can get!Not a zoa for sure, but cant really ID it at that size. I’m not sure then, I guess it may be gsp.To be fair, they were more green, gone brown since I bought the tank and moved it to my house... under blue light they look a bit greener...
No, they are not GSP. Green star polyps (Briareum violaceum) have shorter, thicker tentacles with a white center.
They are probably not Briareum violaceum then. These look grass like... feathery tentacles and fairly long too. Some are more green than others, purple carpet
