What should I do with these frags? I can't quarantine it
KCL dip the frags, blow them off during dip, then cut the bases off, check for eggs and re glue them to new plugs.

where were they? were they already in you tank for a while?

No just got them by mail, dipped in revive, don't have other dips on hand, gonna ditch the plugs

good, you can get small bags of potassium chloride at the grocery store for pretty cheap.

you can add tank water to a container to keep frags happy while you get supplies.

If not check the frags real good they can blend in with brownish corals very good and can be easily missed, sometimes easier to see when the frag is out of water.

I dont see but maybe 2-3 acro eaters but also planaria and polyclad which are not welcome but not as bad as red version. They in numbers can smother bases of coral and block the needed light for production of zooxanthellae which is their energy source.
Removal can be accomplished by siphoning them with a 3/8" tubing into a nylon stocking and discard
OR
Add a wrasse such as Yellow coris, 6 line, lunare or malanurus OR even a springieri damsel which will eat them

With the number you have, for the next 2 weeks you will have to look for eggs and scrape off as there is likely some and would be future acoels. Eggs are really tiny

I looked the frags under bright light with magnifiers and don't see any planaria or eggs, I think gonna cut above any bite mark and glue in a new fragplug

ok good luck, I've done it before too with no issues, it helps to put them on a frag rack close to the glass for a few weeks for observation.

I wouldn’t risk it myself… if those are the only 2 acros you have and keep dipping them to make sure eggs don’t hatch then maybe..
me neither anymore, it's hard to say what's good for someone else, but me personally I'd only risk expensive hard to get corals, even then they are going through the process and I'm going to be 99% sure there's nothing going on, if I can't cut the base off it's getting loaded up with super glue! even then it's so much easier to get another replacement of one coral than deal with AEFW infestation for years. some people say they aren't a big deal but that's because they already have them. I bet 100$ they would do it over different if it ment not having them.....

All it takes is 1 egg to survive or 1 tiny worm for the infestation to take over tank…. Send them back or trash, not worth the trouble. Potassium cl works and other dips do too but they do nothing for the eggs, even though it is possible to live with AEFW, rather not risk it… I just won the war against them a few months ago and would rather tear tank down then do it again

I understand you guys, but it's a nano with six other frags, my rock work is modular so I can take it out and dip if needed, the store gave me credit in full value, I dipped two times, ditched the bases, cut around and tossed any tissue I felt was iffy, here in Brazil it's hard to get clean frags, we make do with what we have.
Gonna take the chance

If its modular then you can take the chance. I had AEFW in a 100g before and because it was modular I could dip whole structures. Eventually beat it over 3 months.

Also I have seen a few cases as well as myself of AEFW targeting green slimer before other acros. Like a canary in a coal mine. Might be fun to try and green slimer are cheap
