New reefer here, this thing is on the only live rock I purchased.
The circled one likes to hide its polyps and get inside the tube when I turn off the pumps (which I did for a better picture).

This was only noticed today as I only got lights yesterday and rearranged my rocks earlier

Wow you guys are amazing and quick to reply! Thank you! So happy to get free beneficial hitchhikers. I've heard some people pay for these :)

Its a tube worm which uses its' fan to capture food. Although it will not bother anything, if you want it out , snap off at the base and discard. They can colonize

I'm happy to have it & its colonies. My tank is empty so far other than the 2 clownfish i put as soon as my initial cycle ended!

Does it mean I'm doing very good so far? Not much info on how sturdy they are... I'm also getting impatient to drop a small soft coral in my tank

Theyre more of a hitch hiker than an indicator of water quality.

Update on my feather duster(s) : The disappeared 12h after I put hermit crabs and a green crab as part of my CuC. Had I known I'd buy snails only :(

RIP to Bernie, Joe, Sandra and Joey the feather dusters. I really liked them.
