Is this Aiptasia?

I am assuming yes. They are super tiny on a new frag. I can barley see them with the naked eye. This pic is my best view. The frilly tentacles are throwing me off.

Crap, it’s already in the display tank. I only have a small nano.

What is it?

Google colonial hydroids.
If that's what they are, you DO NOT want them to spread, so best to remove the frag and scrape them off with a pick, razor blade, etc.

They might be a type of clove polyp... but I'd still remove them

Anthelia perhaps.

I’ll be happier if it’s Anthelia or Clove Polyp. But because so many tiny ones popped up, like dozens, it’s fast growth is concerning. Ironically, I plan to place a Clove Polyp or other wavy soft coral in this area anyway.

Pull the frag and put a little peroxide applied directly with a q-tip, etc. should take care of them. Careful not to get it on the coral frag itself though. Better yet, remove the frag from the plug and discard the plug.

I also think it is anthelia. I also have them in my tank but I reccomend that you get rid of it asap. It is super invasive and the toxins they release inhibit nearby coral growth.

I believe they may be clove polyps some species can become invasive you may want to keep a close eye for further new polyps appearing all over the tank

Thank you everyone. Much appreciated.

I’m leaning towards pulling the frag out and giving it back to the LFS.

The polyps are everywhere, some right next to the candy cane polyp, it would be difficult to treat without hitting the coral itself.

It was only $7 and not worth the risk.

This is a little nano tank to get back into the hobby. I plan a larger DT in the future. QT coral will now be a part of the agenda for next tank. I always QT fish. Now I understand the need to do so for coral as well.
