Best way to get rid of it to remove and squirt with Aiptasia X or something and place back in tank?Looks like it very well could be

You got it. If you can remove the frag then that's always best because when you apply aiptasia X it has the chance to multiply. In order to do it out of the tank it will most likely need to be in another tank of saltwater since they usually retract when exposed to air.Best way to get rid of it to remove and squirt with Aiptasia X or something and place back in tank?
Probably a silly question but would it work if I had a small tub I could fill with my tank water and remove the zoa in without exposing to air then deal with it outside tank? You got it. I'd worry with my tank being so small about getting any other fish to deal with it. It also gives me the heebie jeebies for some reason so doesn't sit right with me letting it sit on my zoa. I think I'll try the lemon trick as a bottle of Aiptasia X is £70 here! Some other common hitch hikers for you.![]()
What is that!! A R2R guide to common new tank hitchhikers.
One of the greatest things about starting a reef tank is getting your live rock in and admiring all the diversity within it. The rock comes to life different creatures. This is a guide that I, along with a very well known critter identifier @KJ , have put together for the new reefer on what...www.reef2reef.com
Lots of methods you can find for removal off aiptasia using search item on r2r.
From squirting with lemon juice/ boiling water Into mouth.
Kalk paste with pumps turned off then siphon up remains of kalk.
Aiptasia x I read often only spreads it.
F aiptasia smoother it and goes harder than aiptasia x.
Bergia nudis bit only eat aiptasia so will starve when aiptasia gone.
Some fish like cbb, aiptasia eating g filefish and some other butterfly fish MAY eat aiptasia but also May eat some your corals.
I've found some aiptasia ( like 5 or 6) inside a small zoa colony I bought maybe 10 months ago and not seen them spread anywhere else in tank ,so either my copperband butterfly fish is eating any new ones that are popping up ( pays no attention to the 5-6 I side my zoa colony which also small and only just raise little above zoas when closed) or I've got a kind of aiptasia that doesn't spread that easy as many different kinds of aiptasia.
I read if start scraping and man handling aiptasia whilst in tank then this often spreads them as releases spores this way or if leave a little piece behind it regrow.
Also seen a hard metal straw attached to airline tubing and literally suck/siphon them up whilst scraping them and generally siphon them up before can spread around tank ( having pumps off would help)
But as I say never even tried to remove mine and they not affecting zoas as always open so just leave them be lol
So if can remove rock /zoas from tank to remove then this would be best.
Ovbiously check compatability of any fish you plan on buy if compatible with other fish and tank size and if only 1 aiptasia, that doesn't warrant buying expensive borgia nudis imo
Goodluck
Yes that would work. Just make sure you don't put that tank water back in your tank so non of the spores go back in it. Once you move it to a tub or container it may take a little time before the aiptasia comes back out so just be patient. If you place it near the tank where it can get some light it will probably help bring it back out.Probably a silly question but would it work if I had a small tub I could fill with my tank water and remove the zoa in without exposing to air then deal with it outside tank?
