Hi I’m semi new to saltwater tanks and was wondering if anyone knew what type of algae this is and if it’s good for the tank. Thanks!

It’s called cyanobacteria, or known as Red Slime Alage. It’s common for newer tanks to get it. It is not a good algae but it is very easy to get rid of. Just use a siphon to suck it up and continue on water changes and it will go away over time. If you don’t seek success some companies make a powder that you mix up to get rid of it.
