Is this algae or a pest?

I got a combo coral frag from my lfs yesterday and this came with it. Is it something I need to be worried about? Also what kind of coral is this? LFS owner did not say. Thank you!

It looks like algae to me. I'd pull the coral and do your best to clean that off.

The coral looks like some kind of Ricordia.

Sometimes when I buy corals, I’ll get some of that black hairlike algae. My CUC always eat it and I never see again. Ugly stuff for sure though.
