It's a little overkill and you will have some real heat problems on a tank that size without a chiller

I was running the same on my 90 just set up a fan to blow across top of tank should be good

Being that you are in Texas, yes the heat could be a problem for you. Personally, I think that it is a very large amount of light for a 90 gallon tank. What are the dimensions of the tank? and how far is the lightfrom the water line?
