Is this an aiptasia?

It’s grown right to the left my coral, I believe it’s an aiptasia but I’m not 100% if it is what are tactics to eliminate.

Yes, you can use aiptasia x, but since its on a frag disk, you can honestly take the favia off of the plug (do this by gently prying the base from the cermatic tile) and drying the plug to kill the aiptasia.

Yup. You could pull the plug and simply put a dab of reef glue on the Aiptasia... Should take care of it...

Yes that is an aiptasia! Deal with it now before it spreads because they will take over your tank.
Personally, I would cover it in super glue gel, second choice would be kalc paste and third would be AiptasiaX. Regardless of which method you select be sure to keep a close eye on the area for quite a while to make sure you got it before it sent out spores to replicate itself.

I’ve heard of people using peppermint shrimp would you possibly know anything about this

Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. If you only have the one, take extreme measures to get rid of it. You want to catch it before it spreads and they spread fast.

Newbie here and sorry if this is a dumb question... but how is super glue safe in the aquarium? I guess it must be because I see it mentioned frequently re aiptasia but how exactly do you apply it? Do you take the rock out first?

It has to be super glue in the gel form and it hardens almost immediately under water. I guess I can't explain how it is safe, but many people use it to mount their corals as well as to glue aiptasia or serve for a variety of uses around the aquarium. The key is that it needs to be the gel type.

I ended up using Aiptasia X on the ones that were bigger and then got 4 peppermint shrimp to clean up the baby ones that had started to appear. The morning after I got the shrimp I couldn't see any evidence of the baby ones. That was a couple of weeks ago. Still have not seen any so I guess the shrimp took care of it

The glue has to have "Cyanoacrylate" I believe the unsafe one is "ethyl cyanoacrylate".
