Is this an issue or just old battle scars?

Picked up a sailfin tang a week ago. He is in my quarantine tank with copper. Very active. Eats very good. No heavy breathing. Since I got him he has had these marks on his one side. Prior to purchase I've seen him at thr store for at least 2 weeks and had same marks. Just don't want to run into any issues once he's ready to go into my main tank. Any input wpuld be appreciated. Thanks

Looks like scars and rub marks to me. These can take a surprisingly long time to heal.
You might consider running prazi after the copper, just to cover all bases.

Its a skin injury/rash from injury and should heal on its own and fairly quickly however assure each day its in the right direction and not becoming infected. Should it become infected, treatment will be in a quarantine setting using Seachem Kanaplex which is ok to use with copper although I dont like mixing meds
