The BTA has been doing this for weeks now, deflating like this and realeasing stuff from its mouth. It’s pretty bleached also, I tried to see if it would budge today but it’s firmly attached to rock. Any ideas?

Can you provide us with some more info? Tanks age, Water parameters, and lighting. How long have you had it? If it's still firmly holding on with its foot it may be salvageable.

Nano cube 28 is about 8 months old, recently switched to AI Prime HD led which is running on acclimation mode for the past 2 weeks. Previously anenome was under cf lighting for around a month.

Temp 78
Alk 8-9

Did you notice it starting to get upset with the lighting change?

I think it got more upset with the lighting change but it started doing this under the cf lights as well.

It was kept under regular fluorescents at the store then I threw it under bright cf lighting first. It did ok for maybe a week or so then started to deflate and puke every time the lights would come on.

A few weeks later I changed to LED and it kept shrinking and puking every time the lights came on. The anenome seems to inflate at its most during lights out.

Lets ask the other members of #reefsquad What are you nitrate, nitrite, and ammonia levels?

I just tested all 3 like 1 hour ago and all were undetectable on API tests.

I also do 5 gallon water changes every sunday.

Was this anemone bleached when you got it? Hate to say it, but when anemones are bleached out, its tough yo get them back. @Amoo, what you think?

Yeah it was pretty bleached when I got it. It had no bubble tentacles either. Should I pull it out?
Do you have any kind of quarantine or hospital tank you can transfer it to?

As long as you give the anemone the ability to remove itself from strong/medium light in order to recover it should do fine. BTAs are pretty forgiving. If it doesn't have anywhere to go to get out of the light, then I suggest physically blocking some light with cardboard. The anemone will move if it wants more light and will slowly color back up.

I will say, that gaping mouth doesn't look great though.

Here is a pic of it later in the day, towards the end of the light cycle. The mouth always closes and it puffs up. I don’t think it’s too much light because the CF lighting was much stronger than the LEDs so I’m not sure what’s wrong with it.

He looks a little over bleached. Give him some strong lighting and make sure your water params are in check, theres a slight chance it'l recover. Also you should totally add me on Roblox! @RickyTheFishy
