Can anyone tell me if this is something/anything on a zoa frag I recently bought? Its hard to get a good picture, it’s pretty small. It looks like a reddish branching something or another. I know, I’m giving awesome details to go off of. Its in between a couple of the polips in the attached image.

Thanks!

Some kind of red macroalgae. As the growth is so young, I would personally let it grow out before deciding if it is a species worth getting rid of (but take my advice with a grain of salt because I have never owned coral).

Agree red macro algae. Pretty much all leafy red macro algae is desirable (and valuable). Let it grow! Probably a type of gracilaria. Here are some pics of pretty red algae :)
