They almost look like a type of fan worm or feather duster. If you touch it does it close up or is it always open?

Yep my money is on a tube worm/ feather duster. Filter feeders, generally harmless.

Filter feeders will only populate as many as their food source will allow. They will not harm corals, depending on your stock, especially if you have any butterflies/ wrasses will eat them. Its not aiptasia.

To be honest, Aiptasia is only a matter of time. It happens to all of us no matter how careful we are. It takes one cell to reproduce to one. So dont fret if you do, they are not nearly as bad as other issues you could have in your tank. These filter feeders aren't something you have to worry about.

Yeah, I'm dreading it and trying to be super careful. My tank is actually 2 weeks into a fallow period due to an ich outbreak. (Fish back in qt with copper right now) Only new thing in tank was a couple turbo snails and my fish were qt before going in. Makes me see just how easy it is for these things to pop up. Thx for your help, love having a place to check on these things from more experienced reefers. I really appreciate you guys!

Not a problem at all, most of us all love this. And I agree its great to have a place to talk and ask questions! I try really hard to make sure nothing comes in on my corals I buy, and I even use a magnifying glass to inspect them during and after the dip process and still got aiptasia and a few vermitid snails. So if thats the worst then ill have nothing to complain about lol.
