Hey All,

I was inspecting my Invert QT tank and noticed this growing out of my zoa today. Is this the first sign of aptasia? It seems to be attached to the zoa itself, not to the frag

Unfortunately, that is an aiptasia

dang! What should I do before it spreads through my whole tank. Should I get rid of this zoa? Cut the piece of or the whole frag?
I would remove the zoas from the plug and carefully inspect. It’ll be hard since there could be other on and just can’t seem them.

No, you can still keep the zoa and take the plug out. You can use aiptasia X or F aiptasia to kill it. I also heard about using lemon juice and squirt it directly on its mouth. Make sure to do it outside of the tank to prevent the spread.

You can spot nuke em with aiptasia x or another similar type... or you can Kalkpaste the Aiptasia.

I've done some crazy things where I take the plug out of the tank, scrape off the Aiptasia, either crazy clue where it was originally to ensure to piece of it still allowed to grow back, or flame torch the section of the plug the Aipt was.....
