I found this today after doing a coral dip in Red Sea dipx. I saw a few come off and am not too sure what it is. I heard black bugs like acros but I didn’t get an acro and the distributor said they believed it to be some sort of copepod. It’s hard to tell. Any help would be great. I dipped the corals twice and did a freshwater dip with power head in both dips. I have moved the corals to my display tank but am considering removing them and putting them all in qt in a big bin I have with a light set up on it. Any help would be great :)

Hard to tell on a fingernail but could possibly be
If so, this is an unwanted battle and is treated and defeated with use of either Dr Gs on eBay or interceptor pill from a veterinarian

I haven’t been able to find any good photos on what they look like. I dipped them in dipx and did a freshwater (ro/di) dip. I wonder if that would have killed the eggs? I put them in my display tank yesterday. If there were eggs I wonder what their cycle is. I’ll do more research. I may have to pull all the corals out of my display and move to a qt tank :/

Dip won’t phase them much and no effect on eggs
Eggs have to be scraped off

Can’t open video on my phone but best description is like a little flea

Crap I’ll have to remove the frag then and move it to qt. What ever was there is dead. How often do the eggs hatch? I don’t want it to spread
I believe their cycle life is 8 days to hatching point from eggs

I sadly only have a little one gallon tank with white LED I am not sure if the coral will survive long in this :/ I may need to set something else up. Do you know if the qt tank has to be filtered for coral? This will be my first coral I have had to qt

Any light and water movement you can provide is already a good start

I keep getting different responses on this. A lot of responses say that the bugs are too large to be black bugs. I am still going to qt but what else could it be. This is the size below

Glad you posted that pic again. Now that I have access to my large screen at home, this looks like what is known as ostracod and their bodies are flattened from side to side and protected by a bivalve like calcareous valve or shell. The hinge of the two valves is in the upper dorsal region of the body. They are classified as harmless.

No need to further quarantine.
