It has to be "food grade" - I believe Home Depot or Lowe's sells food grade buckets. You can setup a QT "on the fly" so long as the SW you are going to use has been circulating beforehand. 1 hr away shouldn't be a problem. I've transported sick fish 4-5 hrs away, using just a large bag with no pure O2 or transporting them in a bucket with an airstone & heater. The latter is the best way to transport fish long distances IMO.
