Tank is a little over a month old and I started getting this growth last week. I used live sand and previous live rock and inverts to cycle. My levels did the spiked to 20 ppm after a couple weeks and have since dropped to 0ppm. I'm just wondering if this is normal and what my next move should be. Thanks.

Diatoms are a pretty normal part of setting up a new tank. Generally if you are keeping your water parameters in check, and using RODI water, they will clear up in a few weeks.

By the way, not sure if you are aware, but you appear to have a dead guy in your tank...

Brown algae is 100% normal and it will go away. Your next step is to wait for the cycle to end then add your clean up crew. Wait another couple weeks to a month, then add first fish.

I've added the clean up crew and they've started working on the skeleton. How many snails should I have for a 175 gallon?
