Please helpI am loosing my fight with this Gha for a while now
Thanks guys I love the support I have to remember that oftenAgreed with everything @shakacuz said. I had a similar battle a few years ago that almost caused me to leave the hobby. Patience patience patience. This too will pass. Then the next issue will come up and this will be a thing of thr past
So I don’t have a canister filter I have an RS-100 sump and I use Rodi water to top offi noticed you may have a canister filter. how often do you maintenance/clean this? a poorly running filter will not do its job properly.
what do you use to test your water? what kind of water do you use to add back into the tank as it evaporates? tap water will probably fuel this algae.
What you saw was a overflow box probablySo I don’t have a canister filter I have an RS-100 sump and I use Rodi water to top off
i saw a hose in the 2nd picture of your original post, i assume wronglyWhat you saw was a overflow box probably
. what skimmer do you have and what size tank do you have?seems more like turf algae, than GHA. or a combination of both. my suggestion is to cut back on white, red and green light and reduce feedings. increase filtration (whether mechanical or biological), and increase the amount of clean up crew you have. lots and lots of manual removal will be needed as well. you can rip the algae off as close to the root as possible. daily.
just as a reminder: when making threads/posts you need to take into consideration that there are many, many, many threads and posts being created every minute or so. you have to be a bit patient and allow other members to find your thread and provide input. don't forget with this hobby you need lots of patience, otherwise it is the wrong hobby for you.
So the lights turn on at 9 AM and turn off at 4:30 PM that’s the schedule for the lights. I have a M 50 protein skimmer and I don’t know what CUC isWhat is the lighting schedule for the tank ? And what do you have for cuc?
