CUC = clean up crew

Snails, crabs, shrimp, etc

Look into some turbo snails. I had mixed success, but others swear by them. Can't hurt.

You can look into going with a lights out cycle too. 3 or 4 days of NO light.

Do this every few days until your CUC can keep up with the algae growth. You should also implement the other suggestions posted such as reduce feeding and lights. If you go the chemical route then low dose fluconazole helped me at the end of the ugly stage (ie, I dosed at 20% of recommended dose for three weeks straight).

For reference this was about 5 months later after continuous work reducing nutrients and adding algae eaters as well as manual removal and a few rounds of light blackout runs

So about a month ago I took out the rocks and I pressure wash them pressure wash them white. They just had green greenish because of the stain but there was absolutely nothing on them. It’s been like a month and this is how they look now, so yeah also I don’t know what medical thing you guys are talking about. Look it up and it looks like there’s a medication for that for humans. I don’t know if the flux RX is the same thing please let me know.

I'd personally pull the rock out bit by bit and scrub as much of that algae off as you can in old tank water . Get a bunch of mixed hermit crabs and a tuxedo urchin and a few mexican turbo snails . Also trochus snails . And turn down white lights and do large water changes weekly. Just out of curiosity what are po4 and no3 numbers. They won't be accurate because you have so much algae but it's a reference

Taking out the rocks and pressure washing them is just a band aid unfortunately. You used tap water which killed everything on the rocks bro . Never use tap water you just killed everything on the rock .

Good thing to keep in your mind is that this outbreak is definitely able to be turned around.

My journey was almost 6 months, but I had some corals so I couldn't do longer blackout sessions.
