Hi,

I've started to notice this algae growing mainly in the sand bed, with small clumps in the rocks. There is not that much of it currently, but I'd like to stay on top and prevent an outbreak. It looks like this in the tank:

And like this when I pull it out:

I'm worried it's Bryopsis based on the ferning that I see. Would appreciate any help on positive identification. Thanks!

Yes, it looks like it. Carefully pull them out without damaging it in the tank if that is all you have.
Thanks. That is what I was worried about. It hasn't overgrown anything, but it is scattered in the sand bed and seems to keep coming back after I manually remove. Also there are some spots on the rock that I can't seem to pull off completely even with tweezers. I've been reading up on the fluconazole thread and may go that route...

I have done a fluconazole treatment myself and it works very well for bryopsis. The more you pull that in your tank the more it will spread. However try the h202 test to see if it will kill it. From the looks of it you have the same species that I had. Just make sure that you dose the full correct amount for the water volume of your system.
