I've got a 40 gallon sump that has a roughly 15 gallon refugium and it's been up and running for about a year. Only contains cheato, deep sand bed and a couple small rocks. Then I started noticing this very thin looking branching hairy algae (not hair algae though) growing on the glass. Last time I got out of the hobby was due to bryopsis and it is the reason I have started this current tank with 100% all dry and not live sand and rock and carefully inspect, dip and replug all incoming coral. This kind of looks like the bryopsis I dealt with before but not exactly so just looking for a second opinion. My nitrates are zero and phosphates are .03 so I have no clue how I could have gotten this or where it would have come from.

Don't think so. Bryopsis is very feathery looking. I have had it and it looks nothing like that.

Yeah that's how I remembered it but this stuff doesn't look like any other algae and still has the thin branch look. I'm just so scared this could be bryopsis. I completely lost the bryopsis battle last time even with fluconozale
