Hi Guys,
Does this look like Bryopsis or is it some kind of GHA/turf? Will Fluconazole knock it out?
A little about the tank:
It's been up and running since May '18. This algae has been getting worse for about 6 months or so. I run Triton systems other methods because I dose NoPox and my fuge isn't quite 20% of the tank size, so water changes are few and far between (whenever ICP says I need to). I have chaeto in the fuge, but this stuff has pretty much taken over it. It just attaches to the chaeto and out competes it. I try to keep the side walls and bottom clear of it, but I leave it in the fuge since I assume it has the same function of chaeto.
Nutrients are:
NO3 is about 5ppm, PO4 about 0.02ppm. I feed 1x/day Reef Frenzy about 1sq in. and about 4x2in Nori sheet. I have a pair of ocellaris clowns, a Foxface, Whitetail Bristletooth tang, Algae Blenny, a Melanurus wrasse, and a few Chromis and Banggai Cardinals. CUC is a variety of snails, mostly nassarius/cerith and hermits. Also have a pincushion Urchin and had a Dolabella sea slug (disappeared after a week, assume dead) NOTHING eats this stuff! It's can come off by toothbrush scrubbing, but it's a little stubborn. Pulling it out with tweezers seems to work but, of course, takes forever. Peroxide seems to work, but I can only dip some of the smaller rocks. My last couple Triton reports are also attached. Any help is appreciated. I'd rather not dose the tank with anything, but this crap is *****...Thanks!
