I have been struggling with algae on this specific rock only. It does not grow this algae anywhere else and other than macro, the rest of the tank is relatively algae free.

I’ll remove the algae manually and it will grow back. At this point, I’m considering getting rid of that rock all together as the algae bothers my SPS.

Both tank and rock are probably around 3 years at this point. I got the tank from my dad about a year ago and have been slowly correcting problems (acro eating flatworms and red bugs).

Hard to see detail in blue light but I see a couple spots that look fern like...assuming it all looks this way.

Here’s a closer picture

I'm not an expert but I think so.

If it indeed is, I've treated with Blue Vet Flux RX. Not to be confused with Reef Flux...ove seen people report problems with reef Flux but I've never used it. Never had a problem with Flux rx. However, with that much bryopsis, die off may spike some nutrients that are in the bryopsis so be careful and monitor. I followed directions on box and was fine. That's a pretty heavy load though...a manual removal would probably help before treatment should ypu decide to go that route

Certainly looks like it, I’d remove that rock and keep my eyes peeled for any other tufts in the tank.
If you can remove the rock and treat out of the tank first...that would be ideal imo

Has a fern like look to it so I’d say yes, bryopsis. Lettuce nudibranch is said to feast on it.
