Sorry if you can’t see the video, I don’t know how to upload to make it visible to everyone from my phone.

I have treat reef flux before because I thought that’s what it was but never left the skimmer off for 2 weeks or carbon/UV because I just can’t do that in our unfortunate ich managed tank.

Leaving these off for 1 week did make this disappear but it always comes back after a month or so.

I think so. Carbon and skimmer wont do anything to help marine ich so it won't hurt to take those offline. Also, do you fish eat pellets by any chance?

I mostly feed frozen twice a day but I do toss formula 2 Ocean Nutrition pellets in once a day as my hippo tang, moorish idol and even the engineer gobies LOVE them. Why do you ask? Does that make it worse?

Looking at the roots, appears to be bryopsis. Reduce white light intensity and in lieu of flux, pull as much off as you can by hand and try Liquid Vibrant. Dose at 80% of bottle recommendation.

No but there are pellets with marine ich medicine in them called ich shield from new life spectrum. You could try those for a month everyday

Ocean nutrition is good.
Add to the diet:
LRS herbivore diet
spirulina brine shrimp
mysis shrimp
small plankton
Formula 2 frozen and flake
Nori seaweed basted with garlic

That moorish needs a complete diet as does Hepatus tang. Add garlic extract to foods 2-3X per week and on alternate days add Selcon vitamins to the foods.

Yes actually I feed all of that that you mentioned as well as other frozen mix. I did a lot of research. And spend a lot of money lol

I mix of containers of food and add vitamins, selcon and garlic. I also add glucan which surprisingly I have seen huge improvement in all my fish health and color. The tang was actually the only one showing spots of ich because we had our UV turned off while stupidly trying “kich ich” as soon as the UV went back on and I started adding glucan to their food, she’s not had a single spot for months and that’s good for an ich magnet!

The Moorish Idol lost its banner the first night he was introduced to the tank and I think it’s because the tang was chasing him everywhere. 1 1/2 weeks in the tank his banner has grown to over 3”....like literally every day I can noticeably tell its grown. A few times it has doubled in length so I think he’s getting what he needs. 11C3AC29-FEFA-4146-A6F7-A80DF0BFA4F5.jpeg

Great job and your of a few who understand the need for this nutritional requirement

We go through a lot of GFO lol but my fish babies have an appetite as do my coral. I’m probably the only person who feeds frozen 2-3x a day on top of pellets and flakes and algae and nori and I even put Masstick in as well every few days lol

We have an Elegance Coral now that is thriving. I’ve read some reviews where others have said the reef flux killed their elegance and or other anemones. Any experience on that?
