Is this Chemipure trash or ok to use?

I bought this “used like new” on amazon. The container came without a lid, and the media is dried out. Directions state not to open until ready for use.

Trash it? Or safe to use?

Is there a reason I should not use it (besides the bag breaking possibility)? Why do you consider it garbage?

My tank is a 20L. Have been using Chemipure for nearly two years without issue.

I do not like the bags they use for the product as they are prone to breaking and making a mess - if they would use thicker bags i would continue to use the media
