Hi - I bought this "assorted frag" at Petco which I used to practice the Bayer dipping method. I don't think it turned out too well. I forgot the steps and mixed the Bayer with RODI water instead of aquarium saltwater. Does it look like it's dead?

Also, does anyone have any idea what the name of the coral is?

Thanks.

Kinda looks dead, how long did u soak it bayers and what ratio did u use?

It's not the Bauer it's the freshwater that is the problem. Give it a shot to come back. I made that mistake and the chalices i did it to beached out one died one came back.

I just blasted it with a turkey baster and the stems receded. It's definitely alive.

Welcome to Reef 2 Reef

I did the same thing with Coral RX.
Had to frag out one digi but the other one is doing fine.

Ran some ROX in the tank to absorb the dip that hit the water column. :)

I'm sorry to say it doesn't look well. It could come back but I would get my hopes up. One thing about this hobby is to be methodical about what we do so we don't have issues. Just some positive feedback that may help you down the road:);)

it is wait and see time there is always a chance it will recover let be keep low in the tank good luck hope it makes it

Thanks. I think it's making it.

It is currently living in my 5.5 gallon submerse in a cheap salt mix. I'm going to add some reef salt and see if that makes it happy.
