No - it's not beyond helping - BUT - I would definitely try to figure out whats wrong with it - a little history might help - do you see any fish bothering it, etc.
 
UPDATE: the poylps practically peeled off, they were hanging from a thread. This coral had tissue recession in the past. I just decided to throw it out.

did you source the root of the issue? any fish picking at it? water parameters? did it have brown residue/jelly on it to indicate BJD?
 
If there's any scrap of flesh left on a LPS coral, it has a chance at regrowing. Unless it has something contagious, it's best to keep the skeleton in the back of the tank somewhere, in case it manages to come back.
 
Ah, yeah, best to chuck that, or at least to isolate it. Might just be dying tissue, but actual BJD can be nasty.
