Is this coral dead?

I bought a star polyp coral yesterday and my LFS gave me this caulcastrea coral(I don't know if this is indeed this coral) for free. He said the coral didn't opened in his shop but in you tank with proper levels it should be fine. Is this coral even alive?

I think I see at least one little head still alive. It could be saved with good parameters and stability.

parameters are not ideally.Nitrates are close to 5 but phosphates are really high close to 1ppm.I just added the star polyp just in case he lives and to get some experience with corals so i don't really think the caulastrea. will actually survive
